Practical Ethics and Responsibility Competition
Well done to our Year 12 team who have just been Highly Commended in Oxford’s UEHIRO Practical Ethics competition!
Fatima Al-Butti, Wesley Raposo, Diya Lawale, Hadi Amin and Sajad Bakhtyargul have been awarded a Highly Commended by the judges for their exploration of a key ethical issue impacting society. The team chose to examine ‘To What Extent Can Somebody Be Held Responsible for Being Obese?'
Team Leader Fatima commented: "I chose to take part in this competition to deepen my understanding of ethics as well as to be able to explore an interest of mine outside the classroom with a team of equally dedicated people."
Wesley’s interest in the project was 'to gain a further understanding of responsibility in the context of health in the UK,' and the team’s submission certainly shows how thoroughly the team investigated one of the most significant challenges facing the NHS.
Well done to all the team members for their hard work and success! Their submission can be found on the UEHIRO website here: https://www.uehiro.ox.ac.uk/perc
