Excellence Maintained at Preston Manor Sixth Form

There was success and smiles at Preston Manor today, as students collected their A Level
results. Despite the ongoing and significant impact of Covid and the resultant disruption to
their first year of study, results for students were similar to that before the pandemic.

Head of School, Stuart Taylor, congratulated students on their ‘resilience and hard work’.
“We are immensely proud of all of our students’ achievements, some of whom have experienced challenges, which with support, they have been able to overcome and move closer to fulfilling their ambitions.” Russell Denial, Executive Headteacher added “The fantastic teaching and learning at the school coupled with the support of our parents and the commitment of our students, is really the recipe for our success.”

There were notable successes in both results and offers from top ‘Gold Standard’ universities. A number of students gained the highest grades of A* or A and once again the school celebrated successful entrance to Oxford University. Suleqa Warsame secured a full scholarship to study Law and put some of her success down to the mentoring she received from staff and alumni students who attended the university.

Niamh Grant secured A*A A and will attend the prestigious King's College London to study
Social Science. She said “The best part of today is the sense of pride I feel. We all worked
hard and will now celebrate what we have achieved.”

Kushi Parekh was more than pleased with her A*AA results. “I’ve had such amazing support
and could not have done so well without the help and support of my teachers. I am so
excited to now go on to study Social Anthropology and Ethics at Edinburgh University.”

Jonathan Silviera gained A*A*A*A* in Further Maths, Maths, Chemistry and Physics. He is
now going to study Aerospace Engineering at Bath University.

Ms Wilding, Sixth Form Lead for Progression and Enrichment, who has supported many of
the students on their journey to university said "Our students worked incredibly hard to
secure these results and deserve their success."

Head of Sixth Form, Ms Surani further stated: “The excellent results many of our students have achieved allows them to make the best choices for their next steps. Many of our students have secured places at their first choice universities, including very competitive universities such as Bath, Edinburgh and Exeter Medical school. We are so thrilled for them and wish them every success in the future.”
