DofE Bronze Award program

On Wednesday 22 May 2024, a group of enthusiastic Year 9 students participated in the DofE Bronze Award program, along with their parents. The event featured a presentation highlighting the expedition and other achievements, followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants. To make the evening enjoyable, snacks, tea, coffee, and games were provided.

To achieve the Bronze Award, participants must complete three sections: volunteering, skills, and physical activities, followed by an expedition. Many Preston Manor students took advantage of the various clubs offered at the school to fulfill these requirements, and they participated in basketball, badminton, art, and music clubs to complete the skills and physical sections. Additionally, many students contribute to the Preston Manor community through volunteering.

  • Smarath (9M), Miya (9N), Huixuan, and Reyhana (9S) assist in the LRC and read with Year 3 students every Wednesday morning.

  • Junaina (9S), Christler (9O), Alexandru (9A), Jahzaiah, and Eden (9M) read with EAL students and help them learn English.

  • Oleksandra and Bhargavi (9S), Kamya, Dhanvi, and Tnavi (9R), Dhruvi (9T), Prithy (9N), and Diya (9E) contribute by collecting recycling in the morning to keep the school clean.

Special thanks go to all the teachers who support the students on their DofE journey, with a particular mention to Ms Dixon and Mr Forde for making the DofE meeting on Wednesday so special.
