Preparation for DofE Bronze Award Program

Twenty-two of our Year 9 students, who are completing the DofE Bronze Award Program, participated in a trial walk on Friday 14 June!

They received some training beforehand and some of the equipment they will use for the actual expedition on the 29th-30th of June.

They took the Metropolitan Line to Croxley, then walked with heavy backpacks for 1.5 hours. They had a half-hour break to eat lunch, rest, and talk with friends. On the way back to the station, they walked in heavy rain!

By the end of the trip, despite being tired and covered in mud, they felt happy and confident. They are now ready for the real expedition and know what to expect on the day. Although they will have to walk much longer and further, they feel prepared!
