Year 12 Computer Science and Maths Workshop with UCL

For our future Computer Scientists, what can be better than the opportunity to visit one of the top-ranking universities globally and spend the afternoon with Computer Science specialists? This is precisely what a group of our Year 12 students were able to do recently, along with a tour of UCL’s Bloomsbury campus.

"Attending this workshop provided me with a better insight into the environment at UCL and the different courses offered. During our session, we looked at micro bits and used block code to program a cutebot to follow our instructions using different programming constructs. This was an incredible opportunity to take part in, as I was able to apply my prior programming knowledge into the program" commented Sanaya.

Laksh added "It was a great experience using the microbits and cutebots and I enjoyed the way that we used block code to program how we wanted the cutebot to function."

Many thanks to UCL’s Outreach Team for arranging this!
